RSLC PAC Announces $80,000 Paid Media Campaign Plan in New Mexico’s HD-28 and HD-32

Washington D.C.- The Republican State Leadership Committee PAC (RSLC PAC) this week announced a new paid media campaign plan in New Mexico’s HD-28 and HD-32 that will total $80,000 and consist of digital ads, radio ads, mailers, and text messages.

  • In HD 28, RSLC PAC will highlight in a mailer this week how Nicole Chavez knows first-hand the importance of fighting crime after her son was killed in a drive-by shooting. Chavez’s commitment to enhancing public safety will be contrasted with Pamelya Herndon’s record of shilling for the failed liberal policies coming out of Santa Fe that have made New Mexico one of the most dangerous states in America.

  • The RSLC PAC will also focus on crime in HD-32, launching a new radio ad this week juxtaposing Candie Sweetser’s soft-on-crime voting record with Jenifer Jones’ support for law enforcement. The ad notes that Sweetser is just another Biden Democrat and emphasizes how Jones’ background as a nurse who has helped patients fight cancer and COVID gives her a unique perspective that will help her bring change to Santa Fe.

“Democrat-controlled New Mexico is the 50th worst state in the nation for public safety thanks to the failed leadership of Democrats like Pamelya Herndon and Candie Sweetser,” said RSLC PAC President Dee Duncan. “New Mexicans who want to shake up Santa Fe with representatives who will work to support law enforcement and keep their communities safe will support Nicole Chavez and Jenifer Jones on Election Day.”

RADIO TRANSCRIPT

WIFE: Honey, have you decided who you are voting for state House?

HUSBAND: I don’t know yet. With the mess D.C. is making, I think we need someone in Santa Fe who will just balance things out.

WIFE: Well that’s not Candie Sweetser.

HUSBAND: Really? Why?

WIFE: Let’s look her up. See? Another Democrat.

HUSBAND: Oh no. Just like Biden?

WIFE: Yup, and the same liberals who’ve made us the 50th worst state in the nation for public safety. Check it out.

HUSBAND: Look, Sweetser even voted in favor of changing parole requirements for murderers, giving them the chance to be released early from prison. I can’t handle more of the same from Sweetser.

WIFE: That’s why I like her opponent, Jenifer Jones. Not Candie Sweetser.

HUSBAND: What’s her story?

WIFE: Mother of 7. Homeschooled all of them. And a nurse whose helped patients fight cancer and covid.

HUSBAND: That’s different.

WIFE: Sure is. And the best part? She supports cutting taxes to fight inflation. And more support for law enforcement to combat crime.

HUSBAND: Wow, I can’t wait to vote for Jenifer Jones.

WIFE: I knew you’d see it my way, honey. November 8 can’t come soon enough.

 BACKGROUND

  • The RSLC in March announced that it would be looking to make meaningful gains in the New Mexico House in 2022

  • The committee included New Mexico in its “Biden Remorse” national ad campaign that began in April. The campaign targeted Americans who regret voting for Joe Biden and his alleged “return to normalcy” in 2020, as they are now being dealt higher prices, a lack of control in their children’s education, and fear of crime in their once-safe neighborhoods. The three ads from this campaign that ran in New Mexico include:

  • New Mexico was also included in the RSLC’s “Pay the Price” video series underscoring how failed liberal policies at the state level are crippling domestic energy production, resulting in record high gas prices and a dependence on dictators for oil.
