RSLC ANNOUNCES NEW ROUND OF CANDIDATES IN ‘2021 VIRGINIA CANDIDATE SPOTLIGHTS’ SERIES

Washington, DC — The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) today announced a new round of candidates for its “2021 Virginia Spotlight Candidates” series. The RSLC is proud to support these Republicans, who are fighting to expand opportunity in Virginia and push back against the failed policies from Democrat-controlled Richmond.

The slate of candidates running for the House of Delegates demonstrate the RSLC’s commitment to expanding the future of the party with candidates that have deep ties to the communities they represent. Virginia’s Republican statewide ticket already includes an entrepreneur and political outsider candidate for governor, a Black Jamaican American and veteran candidate for lieutenant governor, and a Hispanic candidate for attorney general. It will be strengthened by the 23 women, 8 minorities, 20 veterans, 18 young Republicans, and 35 business owners running for the House of Delegates.

 Terry Austin — House District 19 — @TerryAustin4HOD

 Delegate Austin is a native of Buchanan, Virginia. He serves as the President and CEO of Austin Electrical Construction, which he founded in Buchanan over 46 years ago. He’s a husband, father of four, and grandfather of ten. As a businessman, Delegate Austin will continue to take on Democrat-controlled Richmond to implement conservative, pro-growth policies to expand economic opportunity in Virginia.

James Edmunds — House District 60 

 Delegate Edmunds is a small business owner and fourth generation farmer who raises cattle, grain, hay, and timber on his family farm. He has been named a Distinguished Advocate for Virginia Business by the Virginia Chamber of Commerce for seven consecutive years. As a husband and father of two, Delegate Edmunds will keep fighting to ensure children receive a great education, work to create more jobs, and make Virginia the best place to raise a family.

Russ Harper — House District 94

Russ served in the US Army for thirteen years as a Human Resource Specialist. He’s a small business owner, pastor, husband, and father of five. Russ understands the leadership required to curb the rising crime Virginians are experiencing right now and will be a champion for law enforcement in Richmond.

Mary Margaret Kastelberg — House District 73 — @Kastelberg4VA

Mary Margaret is a successful business leader with a deep understanding of Virginia’s economic landscape. She served as the chair for Commonwealth Catholic Charities from 2015 to 2018. As a mother of two, Mary Margaret understands the importance of improving the commonwealth’s education system and allowing families to keep more of what they earn.
