RLGA Announces 2022 Executive Committee

WASHINGTON, D.C.  –– The Republican Lieutenant Governors Association (RLGA), a caucus of the Republican State Leadership Committee, today announced its 2022 Executive Committee. During the past two years, these organizations have had a string of unprecedented success in electing Republican lieutenant governors. The RSLC in 2020 helped Republicans win six out of the nine elections for lieutenant governor, including assisting North Carolina’s rising star Mark Robinson, who is now serving as the Tar Heel State’s first ever black lieutenant governor. The RSLC in 2021 continued its momentum and was the largest contributor to Winsome Sears, giving her the resources she needed to run a strong campaign to be elected the first woman lieutenant governor in Virginia’s history. There are 30 lieutenant governors races on the ballot in 2022.

“These past two years the RLGA has defied the odds by recruiting, training, and supporting candidates that are fighting each day to give Americans across the country a better life,” said Oklahoma Lt. Governor and RLGA Chairman Matt Pinnell. “I’m looking forward to working with a talented executive committee in raising resources and supporting state Republicans in 2022 that will continue to offset the failed policies we are seeing coming out of Democrat-controlled Washington.”

“Last year voters sent a message to Democrats that they are out of touch on the issues that matter most to their constituents and instead elected Republicans at the state level” said Ohio Lt. Governor and RLGA Vice Chair Jon Husted. “I’m honored to be a part of the executive committee supporting candidates to expand our wins in recent lieutenant governor’s races to ensure that state Republicans continue to win elections against Democrats.”

“The RLGA has had historic recent success, not only due to recruiting outstanding candidates, but because we have also shattered fundraising expectations, allowing us to better compete nationwide,” said Indiana Lt. Governor and RLGA Finance Chair Suzanne Crouch. “I am excited to be a part of history and build off the momentum the RLGA has achieved as we continue raising the resources necessary to elect more conservative lieutenant governors in what will be the most expensive year ever for these races.”

“What we saw nationwide in 2021 was voters rejecting Democrats' failed policies and electing Republicans who understand their communities will implement policies that make their states better places to live, work, and raise a family,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “We are incredibly proud of what we accomplished together in 2021, but know full-well that 2022 will be challenging year with a massive map of lieutenant governors on the ballot. The tremendous executive committee leadership team we put together is ready to meet the moment and secure another year of success.”

ABOUT RLGA
One of four caucuses under RSLC’s leadership, the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association (RLGA) is the only national organization dedicated to electing Republicans to the offices of lieutenant governor. Across the country, lieutenant governors serve as a state’s second-in-command, performing critical tasks such as overseeing small business recruitment, leading economic development, administering fair elections, maintaining homeland security, and managing disaster recovery. These experiences often prepare our lieutenant governors for higher office, as 10 out of 27 Republican governors previously served as lieutenant governors.

ABOUT RSLC
The Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) is the largest organization of Republican state leaders in the country and only national committee whose mission is to recruit, train, and elect Republicans to multiple down-ballot, state-level offices. Thanks to our growing network of grassroots supporters in all 50 states, we help deliver wins for Republican state legislators, lieutenant governors, secretaries of state, agriculture officials, and state judges across the country.
