Washington D.C.— Republican Keri Heintzeman tonight defended her seat in a special election to represent Senate District 6, keeping Republicans within striking distance of retaking the Senate in 2026. Following the win, Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) President Edith Jorge-Tuñón released the following statement:  

"The people of Minnesota have made it clear that they want balanced representation in their state government to hold Governor Walz's failed agenda in check, and tonight's result affirms that dynamic. In the last election cycle, Minnesota was part of the RSLC’s historic $38 million early investment across 21 states. This funding supported powerful ad campaigns like the "Republican Roadmap," series which highlighted the harmful policies of Minnesota Democrats contributing to inflation and crime. The "Left’s Most Wanted" campaign also played a crucial role in defeating Minnesota House Democrat Jeff Brand in district 18A, emphasizing the need to promote our values and hold leadership accountable.
