RLGA Announces 2021 Executive Committee

The Republican Lieutenant Governors Association, a caucus of the Republican State Leadership Committee, today announced its 2021 Executive Committee. In 2020 the RSLC defended all 59 Republican-led legislative chambers, flipped 2 more, and elected the strongest, most diverse class of state Republican candidates in our party’s history.

The committee shattered fundraising records, which paved the way for Republicans to win six of nine lieutenant governors’ seats that were up for election, including in North Carolina, where Mark Robinson became the first African American lieutenant governor in the history of the Tar Heel State.  As we prepare for the upcoming cycle, the RLGA will continue to build on its historic successes by working to elect conservative Lieutenant Governors across the country.

"In 2020, our team played a crucial role shaping the future of America in key lieutenant governor races, and now our focus shifts to the 32 elections across the country over the next two years," said Florida Lt. Governor and RLGA Chairwoman Jeanette Nuñez. "I’m eager to work with our dedicated executive committee to raise the resources needed to ensure state Republicans can continue to hold the line against the radical polices of the Left."

"With Democrats currently controlling all of Washington, strong Republican leadership in the states is now more important than ever, and we will have our work cut out for us as we strive to expand on our extraordinary wins in lieutenant governor’s races last cycle," said Oklahoma Lt. Governor and RLGA Vice Chair Matt Pinnell. "The RLGA is a first-class organization that helps build the bench for the future of our party and I am proud to be assisting in the fight to lead it to even greater heights."

"You win elections when you have great candidates, with the right message, backed with the resources to get that message to the voters. One of the main reasons the RLGA was able to help Republicans win key races across the country and net a lieutenant governorship in 2020 was because of our record breaking fundraising," said Ohio Lt. Governor and RLGA Finance Chair Jon Husted. "I look forward to building on the successes we achieved last cycle so that our candidates are armed with resources they need to keep winning during the next two years.”

“Ten of twenty-seven Republican Governors were former Lieutenant Governors, and the RSLC is committed to developing the Republican leaders of tomorrow to steer the future of our party," said RSLC President Dee Duncan. "Our RLGA Executive Committee members will be critical to our continued success as we fight back against the liberal money machine to help lead more principled conservatives to victory in the upcoming election cycle."
