GOP FLIP: Tim Anderson Defeats Nancy Guy in District 83

Victory in Biden District Comes Despite Being Outspent By 3.2:1

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Republican Tim Anderson defeated incumbent Democrat Nancy Guy tonight, returning control of the House District 83 to Virginia Republicans. Anderson’s victory came in a district Joe Biden won by 15 points and despite him being outspent by 3.2:1.

Nancy Guy governed as a radical liberal that failed to prioritize the needs of her constituents,” said RSLC President Dee Duncan. “Virginia Beach will be better served by a Republican who will lower the cost of living, support law enforcement, and empower parents. Congratulations to Tim Anderson on his major victory tonight.”

Nancy Guy was on the defensive for most of the race as a result of her record of voting to hike gas and energy costs on Virginians, weaken law enforcement, and protect radical curriculum. She faced backlash during the closing stretch of the campaign for being caught on tape calling her constituents “stupid” for not agreeing with her radical agenda.

The RSLC and its affiliated groups invested heavily to help Anderson overcome an onslaught of spending against him to defeat Guy, including in television ads launched in August in opposition to Guy.
