Ag America Announces 2022 Executive Committee

Washington, DC- Ag America, a caucus of the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), announced today its executive committee for 2022. Ag America is the only national organization committed to supporting and electing independently-elected agriculture officials in states across the country.

Republicans have experienced great success in these races recently, currently holding 11 out of the 12 elected agriculture official offices across the country. In 2022, seven agriculture offices will be on the ballot, six of which are currently controlled by Republicans. Florida is the only possible pickup opportunity Republicans have in 2022.

“With radical Democrats controlling Washington, we need principled Republican leadership in the states now more than ever to protect our ranchers and farmers,” said Ag America Chairman and Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain. “I am honored to serve as chairman of Ag America this year and pledge to work tirelessly to help elect more conservatives who will be champions for our agriculture communities.”

“Our executive committee is composed of outstanding industry experts who understand how agriculture is the backbone of America,” said Ag America Vice Chairman and West Virginia Agriculture Commissioner Kent Leonhardt. “I’m excited with how we have hit the ground running to have another historic cycle and am determined to continue delivering results on behalf of hardworking farmers, ranchers, and agricultural producers across the country.”

“Republicans hold 11 out of the 12 elected agriculture official offices nationally because of two reasons: great candidates and strong fundraising,” said Ag America Finance Chair and South Carolina Agriculture Commissioner Hugh Weathers. “We know that more success this year will require us to raise more resources than ever before, but our team is up for the challenge. Ag America has been at the forefront backing leaders who fight daily for the agriculture community and we cannot afford to cede these important offices to the Democrats.”
